Information about Phil
Doctoral and Masters graduate of Oxford University in Physics and Mathematics. I worked as professional scientist for many years at CERN (the European Particle Physics Lab) in Geneva, and then in the Telecomms industry. I enjoy the challenge of communicating exciting physics and maths concepts to students and encouraging them with good exam. and learning techniques.
Everyone has their own way of understanding and becoming familiar with the types of ideas and concepts encountered in physics and mathematics. I like to work with the student`s preferences to explain and illustrate the concepts and principles that underlie exam. questions and show you how to communicate your knowledge to an examiner. Above all, tutoring sessions should be enjoyable and lead step by step to ultimate exam. success.

Phil has been an excellent tutor for our 16 year old daughter studying GCSE Maths, improving her grade by three levels.
Punctual, friendly and able to put the client at ease he was able to provide alternative solutions to improve understanding of the subject.
We wouĺ;;d have no hesitation recommending him.

Phil responded immediately and was very helpful in fitting our daughter in for tutoring. He helped with A2, giving Elaina more confidence in her own ability.
Tutors Response :

Phil was the perfect Tutor for our son, Liam. Liam needed extra help with his A level in Physics. What helped us, was how flexible Phil was. Most importantly, Liam felt comfortable with Phil, and understood his teaching really well. Without the help from Phil, our son wouldn`t have achieved the grade he got, and without that grade, he wouldn`t have been accepted on his chosen course at University. We`d like to take this opportunity to thank Phil for helping Liam.
