I am an experienced, professional and highly qualified teacher. I taught for many years, as English subject leader, in a successful 11-18 comprehensive school. More recently, I have been teaching in a special school for children aged 4 to 19 with moderate and additional learning difficulties, complex needs and Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD). I have taught pupils of all abilities, from SEN pupils at Year1 level to A level and Oxford entrance students. I am experienced at teaching intervention work for KS3 and GCSE pupils. My professional disposition is to be calm and patient and always to have high expectations of the pupils in my care.

Availability: After school on weekdays subject to negotiation

Experience: I taught fir many years in a state school and I am familiar with, and successfull at meeting, the latest demands of the KS3 curriculum. I successfully teach pupils of diverse ability and interests. Teaching at KS3, I am aware, is a fundamental foundation for success at GCSE.

At GCSE, I teach those who find the study of English challenging to achieve a grade C. In addition, I am very successful in teaching the more able students so that they are able to achieve A/A* grades. I am an experienced leader of teachers of GCSE English as well as a GCSE English examiner for AQA.

Similarly, in A Level English Literature I achieve results whereby students exceed their targets and achieve to their full potential. I have had sustained success over many years in teaching students to excel at A Level English Literature and led a department that was awarded the title of the best A Level English Literature department, based on results, in the country (including all Grammar and Independent schools). This year (2015), the students I teach were recognised by The Good School`s Guide as providing Excellent Performance at A Level literature. I am also experienced, and successful, in preparing students who apply to Oxbridge.

II worked full time the last academic year(2017-18) in a school specialising in teaching autustic children with a wide range of needs. I am experienced in teaching the new GCSEs in Enhkush and Functional Skills.
