Information about William
Professional tutor offering lessons in GCSE Maths and Science, KS3 Maths and Sciences and A-level Chemistry Physics and Maths at clients` homes.
I tend to be guided in my tuition by both the wishes and needs of the student and the informed opinions of the parents and the feedback from the school attended.
I am a University graduate in Chemistry and Physics with experience in industry as software engineer and IT Trainer. I am located in Whitstable with my own transport, so I used to tutor at the students homes. However, due to the current situation with Covid-19, I now only tutor on-line.
LESSON FEES: I charge £25 per hour for KS3, GCSE and IGCSE and £30 per hour for A-level and IB subjects.
I do not offer free taster lessons but can do an assessment for free combined with the first lesson, so charge for a one hour lesson but give one and a half hours of my time for that lesson, if desired.
Availability: My availability does depend on demand but subject to that, given that I am working from home, I can offer lessons at any time that suits you.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I began teaching work in the situation of an ICT trainer in the voluntary sector in 2003 to 2004 with a focus on Windows and Office suite applications and qualified as an ESOL teacher in 2005, then taught in a number of summer English language schools in 2005 to 2007. At the same time (from 2003), I began private tutoring in maths and sciences (KS3 to A-level) and since then, after making this my main role, have tutored a large number of students, originally in SE London and latterly in Kent.
From November 2013 to February 2014, I also lectured part-time at East Kent College on the Organic Chemistry and Medical Physics Techniques units of an Applied Science BTEC.
More recently (January to May 2017), as well as tutoring my current cohort of private students, I have been working part-time in the Additional Educational Needs department of Norton Knatchbull school assisting students on a one-to-one basis with their Maths and Science GCSEs.
As of late March 2020, I have switched to on-line tuition exclusively. Currently using Zoom, webcam and a Wacom graphics tablet but I am open to other technologies such as Skype or WhatsApp.
From my previous career as a computer programmer and some private work as a hobby, I can offer tuition in Python, currently a popular choice for teaching computer programming.

William has been a great help engaging my son with his Physics and Biology Revision. He has helped him to understand all the trickiest aspects of the subject. We intend to ask William to continue to help with our son`s A levels.
