I am a fully qualified Science teacher, with 35 years of successful teaching experience.
As an expert tutor, I will guide you in building up your understanding of Science, so that you make your own sensible "story" rather than feeling you are carrying a collection of random, unrelated facts.
Exams don`t have to be a trial. We will use reliable, straightforward exam techniques so that you understand what a question is asking you to do, and can tackle it with real confidence.
In our sessions, most of the talking should be yours: explaining something for yourself is a powerful and effective way to learn. I`m still surprised at how much laughter there is, too!
Good tuition is good value for money. Every session with me is planned to bring a solid, identifiable gain in your performance.

Mike is a fantastic tutor who quickly identified huge gaps in my daughters knowledge for A level biology. She had been struggling to understand the topics at AS level and wasn’t enjoying her lessons because of it. He really knows his subject inside out and approached each topic in a very easy to understand format. We used Mike weekly for a year and he went back over her year 12 topics before moving onto year 13 in that time. My daughter says she learnt more from his one hour lesson a week than she ever did with her teachers at school. Her confidence returned and her grades improved with every subsequent test. All I wanted was for her to go into her final exams feeling more confident and with his help we have achieved that. Towards the end of year 13 biology went from being her least favourite subject to being her favourite.
