Qualified teacher of Modern Foreign Languages, specialising in German. I work in a secondary school in Beckenham, teaching German (to A2 level) and French (at Key Stage 3). I achieved a grade 1 (‘outstanding’) during my teacher training in July 2013, which reflects my excellent subject knowledge and practice as a teacher of languages. Working as a teacher means that I am fully aware of the current exam requirements (both GCSE and A level) that the students have to meet, thus enabling me to teach accordingly.

Having studied French and German at school and at university, I have experienced and understand the demands and challenges of learning a foreign language, which in turn helps me teach the languages in an accessible and effective way. My experiences of living in Paris for 6 months and Berlin for 9 months further consolidated my knowledge of the languages. It is my aim to pass this knowledge on to my students. I believe that my excellent subject knowledge, passion for languages and teaching, understanding of the exam requirements, and my friendly and approachable manner make me an ideal tutor.

Availability: I am mainly available on weekday evenings, but also sometimes at weekends and during the school holidays (including half term breaks).

Rates shown are for if tutees travel to me. If travel to the tutee is required then a supplementary charge will apply per session to cover petrol costs and time. The cost of this will depend on where I need to travel to.

Experience: I am currently in my second year of qualified teaching (qualified July 2013). I teach German at Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level (AS and A2) at a school in Beckenham. During my training year I taught at a school in Chislehurst and at a school in Orpington. As well as teaching classes of approximately 30 pupils, I also have experience working with much smaller groups, and individual pupils, working on particular issues of grammar or focusing on particular language skills (such as writing and speaking).
