I headed full time into teaching languages after studying Modern European Languages at Durham University (French, German and Spanish) and qualifying as a translator, a career which I pursued for several years whilst tutoring students in French, German and Spanish. Having lived out in Thailand, where I taught Spanish in a British International school, and more recently in France, where I taught German and English, I now live in Harrogate with my French husband and offer tuition at various levels. My approach to tuition is dynamic, modern and tailored to the students` needs and actually achieves results, as can be seen in testimonials from current and former students.

Very sensitive and flexible to my needs as a mature student. Is always well prepared for our lessons and uses a variety of resources and approaches. Pushes me to ensure progress and confidence but ensures understanding. Very friendly and approachable and keen for me to speak French as the French would. A star!

Fast and courteous responses whilst making my initial enquiries.
Two lessons down the line and we are off to a flying start. Quick assessment by Katie of my current ability and really helpful advice for speaking colloquial French. Impressed by Katie`s preparation for my lessons and made to feel very relaxed during the lesson. They are good fun.
