I offer tuition for English from Primary level to GCSE. I also offer tuition for the grammar entrance tests. I have a degree in History & Politics from Cardiff University and two school age children, one primary and one at college so understand the pressures and the difficulty in finding time to support your child`s learning.
I have been tutoring since 2014, successfully helping children gain places at grammar school and get the grades they need in Gcse English Language and Literature.

Experience: I have been tutoring for since 2014 and have close links to both schools that my children attend and support my children with home learning every day. I have knowledge of the current curriculum and access to many past test papers. I believe strongly in engaging the student with their subject to enhance their understanding of the world and giving them the confidence to know what it is they are being asked in an exam environment. Once this confidence is established then knowledge can grow on these firm foundations. I am very skilled in exam procedure and teaching exactly what is being sought in exam questions.
I am currently tutoring pupils in Year 1,Year 4,Year 6,Year 8 and Year 10 English. I can also offer Primary Mathematics. My tutoring style is very flexible and I tailor each session to an individual`s unique needs. I like to use a mixture of past papers, reading comprehension, grammar exercises and fun word quizzes in my current sessions. I also aim to assist whatever the student is currently studying in school.
I have experience of tutoring pupils where English is not the first language and also with Aspergers.
