Information about George

I have an upper second class honours degree in Mathematics from the University of Bath with good teaching experience. Based in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, I am happy to tutor anywhere between Bath and Trowbridge and their surrounding areas.

I am a patient, flexible and helpful tutor, though like to challenge my students to apply their knowledge in unfamiliar territory in order to create a good, broad understanding of the subject. I encourage my students to complete work outside of sessions and thus offer a mix of demonstration and applied exercises.

Experience: During college, I often helped other students during lunchtimes with any maths they were struggling on. I am also a member of the STEM community, promoting and engaging young people with science, technology, engineering and maths

George has been helping my daughter with a retake for a first year university exam. He clearly knows the subject very well. He works to a plan so that all course work is covered. He is excellent at building confidence and his friendly and open manner means that it is easy to say when something isn`t making sense. We couldn`t recommend George highly enough. He would be excellent at working with students of all ages.

Well what can I say about George, he was great, a very relaxed patient person. Lewis looked forward to him coming each week. Anything Lewis didn`t understand in A level maths George would take him through it step by step. Lewis felt he had learnt so much more from George in a short time. He became much more confident and not so nervous on exam days also. I would not hesitate to recommend George to anyone that is needing a bit of extra help with mathematics. Thankyou George. George was a fantastic tutor with the ability and patience to tutor myself leading up to my first year university exams. George listened to my views on particuallar subjects and how I wanted to approach them, he then made suggestions regarding this and we worked out a schedule. The pace of the sessions were comfortable which was ideal for me, with an achievable amount of work being set or suggested to complete in between sessions. George was very flexible in his availability which was ideal as I could plan to have sessions around other arrangements. Without George`s help I would have undoubtably achieved a much lower grade.
