Information about Aashna
I am a UCL master`s graduate with 7 years of experience tutoring students ranging from ages 8 to 20 years. I specialise in Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics and have helped my students significantly improve their grades. My former students have all achieved A and A*s for their A levels and 8/9 for their GCSE results and have been accepted into some of the top universities in the world, including Imperial, UCL, Oxford, and KCL.
I am motivated by helping students achieve the grades they deserve and my dedication to supporting them goes beyond our lessons. I am available via email/text/call if the student requires any help or has any questions during the week.
Choosing a tutor is a difficult task, and therefore I offer a 30 minute free of charge consultation so that are comfortable and you`re sure we are a good match.
__ Teaching Style and Experience __
My tutoring style is based on a two fold approach: identifying the students learning style and adapting my teaching to it and secondly, making my topics as engaging as possible to instil a passionate drive to learn in the student.
I have found in, my 7 years of experience as a private tutor, that many bright students struggle to learn through traditional methods in school and find rote learning boring. I like teaching topics through engaging ways, be it diagrams or animations, to ensure the students are being their utmost productive in our time together. I find if a student struggles with a topic, it is more often than not, the manner in which the information is presented that causes issues rather than the students ability to understand it. Therefore, I spend a lot of effort to make it as easy as possible for the student to understand the subject thoroughly.
I believe starting exam practice early on helps students get realistic feedback on their ability. Part of my teaching method is to start exam-style questions early on so students are eased into it and are much better prepared for the real thing.
I also give them real life scenarios and uses for the topics they study to make remembering what we study together easier. I feel this not only makes the short duration that I see them for extremely productive, but also encourages them to spend more time studying the topic in their own time. This context also helps with motivating an interest in the student beyond the textbook, allowing them to rediscover their enjoyment in their studies.

Feedback For Aashna (7)
Manjiri (Mrs)

Aashna is very focussed in lessons, which keeps the student attentive and thus making the most of the full lesson. She explains concepts well. She has an encouraging style which helps morale. My child is learning very well with her and we are glad to have found her.

Aashna has taught our son for around 6 months for A Level Biology as a result our son made great improvement in his knowledge and application for the subject. He managed to achieve high B grade bordering an A. I do not think he would have had such result without Aashna`s help.
Aashna has very likeable personality and she responds to feedback positively. She has great way of teaching such as mind maps and I would highly recommend her tuition to anyone who is looking to improve their grades.
