European un ion law is an integral part of the English legal system and an ever increasing amount of national legislation is implemented to give effect to European measures. As European un ion law pervades many aspects of English law it is essential for law students to have an understanding of this subject. The aim of this module is to familiarise students with European un ion law by providing them with an understanding of the evolution and development of the internal market and the European Union, and the legal framework within which the institutions of the European un ion operate. To this end, particular emphasis will be placed on the European Court of Justice, as well as the other main institutions involved in the formulation, implementation and enforcement of European un ion law at both national and European levels. The module will also examine the nature of European un ion law and its impact on domestic law. In addition, students will be equipped with an understanding of some of the substantive law of the European un ion and the methods of enforcing such at both national and European level.

3. Analyse the limits of European un ion law in providing remedies to Member States and individuals
4. Use a wide range of specialist skills in order to formulate responses to problem scenarios covering areas of law specific to this module
5. Analyse and evaluate the main substantive EU law freedoms in their social, legal and economic contexts.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module, students should be able to:
1. Demonstrate a clear and detailed understanding of the nature of human rights in international law
