Professional chemist with a 1st class MChem degree, member of the Royal Society of Chemistry, industrial experience at companies such as GlaxoSmithKline, Eurogentec, Expro Group and ExxonMobil/Esso.

Experienced in tutoring students in chemistry & physics at A-Level and maths at GCSE, my mission is to promote development of young people in science, technology, engineering and maths subjects!

How do I do it?

I identify the student`s weaknesses early in the tutoring process and work with them to fix problem areas by teaching helpful techniques (such as units cancelling, resonance and retrosynthesis). I also use varied mediums such as video, model kits and interactive software, in addition to more traditional techniques, to develop understanding. Lastly, a good sense of humour and examples from my academic / industrial experiences help to ensure that sessions are fun!

2017 Results:

A-Level Chemistry:
1 Student rose three grades from E to B.
5 Students rose two grades from D to B.
1 Student rose two grades from E to C.
One further student attained a C.
Two of these students were accepted on to medical degrees (neuroscience and dentistry).

GCSE Maths:
1 higher level student rose from C to A grade.
