Information about Samuel
I studied at Lincoln College, Oxford and completed a Masters in Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (Distinction) following a BA in Mathematics (1st class). I am currently studying for a PhD in theoretical physics at Trinity College, Cambridge. I previously studied Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Music A-levels in Bristol. I am passionate about teaching Mathematics and Physics and helping pupils fulfil their potential in exams and above all to enjoy learning the subject.
I offer tutoring in Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics at GCSE and A-Level as well as degree level Mathematics and Physics. I am also available to assist in Oxbridge applications, with the STEP or MAT entrance tests and with interview preparation (including conducting mock interviews). I can also tutor for the extra-curricular UKMT maths challenges/olympiad.
Having recently been through the A-level and university admissions process myself I have experience of the exam system and Oxbridge admissions and I understand what is required from personal experience.
As well as all-important exam preparation, with practice papers and exam technique, I am keen to instil a passion and enthusiasm for Mathematics in my students, which I believe is crucial to progressing in the subject and subsequently gaining academic success and entry to top universities!
I can travel to your home in surrounding areas if required, for one-to-one tuition or group sessions if preferred.
Please contact me with any questions and I look forward to hearing from you!

Our son has been thoroughly enjoying his lessons with Sam. This has helped him to engage with the lesson and subjects, and has already been making progress. Sam has managed to develop a good relationship with our son and we were impressed about his assessment on our son`s current knowledge, teaching needs and developed a personalised teaching plan for him just after a few sessions. His communication with us has been exceptionally good, prompt, precise and very helpful.
