Information about Zoe
I am a fully qualified teacher with a friendly approach to tutoring I can offer tuition to prepare students for the English and/or Maths CSSE 11+ entrance exams for grammar schools in Essex .I have good contacts with staff at a local super selective school and this has enabled me to develop a thorough understanding of the 11 plus exam . I also prepare students for KS2 SATS exams in English and Maths. I have successfully tutored students with applications for a local super selective grammar school. I believe that 1:1 tutoring is the most effective means of preparing for the 11+ and KS2 SATS exams.
I also have an up to date DBS certificate.
I have spent many years developing my own materials for the CSSE 11 plus and have now published four books for the CSSE 11 plus exam.
My approach is to work on children`s current primary school targets. I then plan activities which complement what the child is studying in school. I feel that this maximises the benefits of tutoring as children find that following my tutoring sessions they return to school and excel in their lessons. The confidence my students gain from doing well at school leads to even higher attainment as children who feel successful will work harder at school and during tutoring sessions. I think it is important for my students to feel that I value their efforts and that they feel listened to. My starting point with a new student is to assess a child`s strengths and weaknesses so that I can use this to tailor a specific lesson plan for that child. I am happy to go the extra mile for my students and I regularly provide feedback to parents about their child`s progress. I believe that regular communication between parent and tutor enhances the value of tutoring and I am happy to listen to parental requests and to tailor my tutoring accordingly. Most of my tutees come from personal recommendations.
I take responsibility for my own continuous professional development. I regularly update my teaching skills by engaging with webinars through `The National College.`
I am an experienced examiner and now work as a senior associate with the UK`s leading awarding body My responsibilities include leading a team of examiners and post results reviews of student`s grades at GCSE and A - Level.

Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I have qualified teacher status (QTS) and have 22 years teaching experience in a local secondary school. I have 20 years experience as a senior examiner on GCSE and A-level examinations.
