Experienced, patient and friendly tutor currently studying for my first degree at the Royal Veterinary College in London.

Having completed my pre-university education in Singapore, I am effectively bilingual in English and Mandarin. Having tutored English speakers in basic Mandarin, I understand that learning Mandarin as a second (or third) language is vastly different to learning it as your native tongue. With a strong command of both languages, I ensure that effective communication is the defining characteristic of my lesson.

I believe that languages are best learned through face-to-face interaction. As such, I feel that online lessons do not do justice to the student or the language, and will not be offering online tutoring. All lessons are tailored to the student`s level of ability, after a discussion of his/her needs and expectations. Strongly emphasises the learning of spoken Mandarin alongside written Mandarin.

Availability: Weekday evenings after 5pm and weekends. May be available at other times on weekdays subject to timetable.

Experience: Previous experience teaching Mandarin, English and Mathematics at the primary level, under a volunteer program providing free tuition to disadvantaged primary school students in my community.

Also taught Mathematics at A-level.
