Information about Somil

I graduated from Cambridge studying Natural Sciences in June 2014, specialising in Neuroscience. I received a double first, coming top of the entire year in my final exams, highlighting my academic prowess and determination to strive for the very best outcomes. I also obtained 4 A*s at A Level and 11A*s at GCSE. I will now study `Accelerated` Medicine at Oxford starting in September 2015. Between June 2014 and September 2015, I had a year away from academics, and I spent the majority of this time tutoring full time. I have shown that I have the qualities, drive and knowledge required to be an excellent tutor, and I have a passion for helping students fulfill their potential.

I will ensure that my tutees are up to date with the school syllabus, and ensure that they fully grasp what is required of them. If I deem fit, I would also try and push them beyond the curriculum to determine their level of understanding. I would also expect some homework in the form of practice questions to be done weekly, which I would later mark for the next session.

Availability: I am generally free during all weekday evenings and some weekends, but there would have to be flexibility.

Willing to travel: 2 miles

Experience: I previously tutored around 20 students privately, which mostly consisted of (but was not limited to) GCSE and A Level Maths and Science. I have also worked with a number of companies which help prospective Oxbridge and medical students with their university application. I am finding the tutoring incredibly enjoyable and rewarding and I aim to tailor each session to the particular needs of the student. I received exclusively positive feedback from my tutees on this website and on a few others, and the majority of my students achieved better grades than they were initially predicted.

As I will now be starting an intensive course at Oxford, I will only have space for around 3 tutees. They would have to either come to me at Worcester College, Oxford, otherwise I am happy to travel up to 2 miles. If you would like my services, I recommend that you get me early as I will be shutting down my account once I have 3 students.

A punctual, polite young man who made my daughter feel at ease. He has helped her to understand topics in A level chemistry that she previously struggled with. I highly recommend him.
