Information about Linda
I am a trained GCSE English examiner, and have over twenty years` experience tutoring all levels of English. I also have over twenty year`s experience tutoring all subjects at 11+.
As well as tutoring and marking GCSE English papers, I have trained as a writer, so when it comes to the writing questions of the language papers and entrance exams, I am exceptionally well qualified.
I have worked in a local grammar and in a community school as an English intervention/enrichment tutor.
I am available during the day.
A-level
I love to teach A level English and have twenty years` experience. I also teach Sociology.
Adult learners
I am experienced with the needs of adult learners who may want to brush up on grammar, improve writing techniques, or who may want to make up for lost time when in the school system.
Special Needs
My special needs students are very dear to me. I have many years experience working with dyslexic, dyspraxic, ADHD, and high-functioning autistic students of all ages. I have also worked with very sick children.
Availability: I am available during the day, evenings, and on Saturdays.

Common Entrance students have passed entrance exams at Wycombe Abbey, HABS, North London Collegiate, Merchant Taylor`s, St Alban`s School for Girls, St Alban`s School for Boys, Berkhamstead, City of London.I have a very high success rate, but mostly that is down to my students willingness to learn, hard work and commitment.
I also have many years` experience teaching GCSE English, and am an experienced examiner. I write professionally, both fiction and non-fiction. I have many years` experience with AQA, IGCSE and Edexcel exam boards. I recently worked in a local grammar school and a community school.
I love to teach A-level English Language and English Literature and have experience with both exams.
I currently teach grammar and writing style to adults who want to improve for professional reasons. I have also worked with adults who need GCSE equivalents.
I have a background in journalism and fictional stories (writing and editing).

Linda is a brilliant tutor. She is extremely knowledgeable about the 11+ process and test content. I am particularly impressed with the variety of online tools she uses to make remote tutoring as successful as in-person. She has a very calm way about her and is very encouraging but also stretches and challenges my daughter to go further. We`re delighted with the progress our daughter has made in just a few weeks.

We approached Linda about 6 months before the GCSE exams. Within 1st month, our Son showed huge improvement in his English class tests and mock exams. He loved her teaching and honest feedback, which really helped him get very good grades in his English GCSE.
