Indian Classical Music is very popular in the world stage today, because of its mesmerising effect on the audience.Indian Classical Music has two genres - Hindustani Music (mostly practised in the Northern parts of India and Carnatic Music (mainly practised in the southern parts of India.Both of these systems are mainly composed of elements such as-sruthi (pitch), swara (single musical notes), raga (mode or melodic formula) and taal(rhythm), although there are stylistic differences.

Carnatic Music is mainly sung through composition, however it is not limited to compositions as it has a limitless array of melodic patterns! Carnatic Music is very effective in building positive mental discipline by eliminating negative thoughts and it helps to focus and organise thoughts. There is a wide range of rhythmic and melodic materials available - as it is the reservoir of melodic expressions!! This music can literally take you to another world and leave you speechless,as it is so enchanting!

We all know emotions are part of our life, so does Music! Music, sometimes helps us to express our emotions. Through music,we experience emotions and add it`s expression to our existence..!!

Carnatic Music, being such a soul-stirring experience, definitely helps us to explore the unexpressed expressions within ourselves!! It has hundreds of ragas- each raga will make you feel a different emotion...It is indeed a blessing if you have a passion towards Carnatic Music and if you have the talent and confidence to pursue this art form, it`s more than a blessing...!!!
