Abstract Significant shifts in the global distribution of material capabilities and the emergence of new powers from the global South appear increasingly to demand the reorganization of existing institutions of global governance. This essay will analyze whether economic globalization enhanced or undermined the ability of developing countries to influence global governance. However, this article argues that the developing countries` influence in decision-making at the WTO and G20 still has scant powers and limited abilities as those two key major economies have not lobbied for structural changes in these institutions which could be in favor of these up-and-coming powers but instead followed the developed world`s agenda.
