On Monday November 17 2014 The Times published an article by Greg Hurst, Education Editor, which highlights some points about British kids crossing the pond for their university degrees. The title suggests this is because of the fees in the UK, but read on, it`s also a `Brain drain` taking some of the best and the brightest from here to there. That`s not just money! Definitely it helps decision making if there`s a viable financial comparison, but there`s more to this than that! Let`s unpack this to see what appears to be going on.

From the list of most popular universities in the States it doesn`t look as though money was the deciding factor. If you`re a top student over here, then why not go to a top university over here? There`s something else guiding these decisions and the trend. Partly it`s a numbers game. Numbers of applicants to numbers of places.
